My dreams, my nightmares The things that haunt me How can I say they haunt me? For i can't stand not seeing them The disturbances are gone now And the wanting has continued.
I made a resolution And i wanted to follow it. But with you just sitting there... It's just so hard. You've taken my heart And ripped it to pieces
And now here i am, Wishing things that won't come true. And what can i say? I'm sorry that i'm in love? I'm sorry that i stare at you? Or is it this next one? The one that could explain it all... I'm sorry we never talk... And that you don't know me.
If that's it, then here's what i say. I'm sorry... i'm truly sorry... Because even though i love you... You won't know it. And we won't be together. Because you don't understand. I'm sorry... I'm truly sorry...
Serayna's words rang through the dark damp room as her poem finished. Her words finally said. Her heart finally spoke.
And in the corner stood an all too familiar shadow, and a clearly visible smile on his face.

In the other corner, across the room, Anne smiled, for she knew and had foreseen this day for the past week. Sure, her memory may not have been that great, but she could every now and again see the future, and when she did, it was clear as crystal.

Serayna walked down the stairs of the stage and saw two corners to go to. Anne's corner... and... His corner. She couldn't decide. So She decided on middled ground.
Serayna silently sat down at a table in the middle and smiled at Anne. But the first one to get there was... Him.
"Hello Serayna." He whispered from behind her. She inhaled deeply. Unsure whether to talk or just stay silent, and send 'help me!' glances to Anne. So she muttered the best reply to a man you haven't seen in ages.
"What are you doing here?" Serayna muttered, her eyes glaring at Anne asking her to come over here quickly. Again, a neutral ground.
"I came here to see you. I heard you were speaking tonight. And now i know why they rave about Serayna. You're pretty good. And to think, you used to have no inspiration." The man murmured, his face in her hair, his mouth right beside her ear.
"Hey Serayna... Whose this?" Anne said interrupting him.
Serayna could feel him look up. And she did too.
"Anne this is the guy i was talking to you about. Remember? A few days ago..." Serayna spoke, hoping that Anne's memory wasn't detoriating at this moment.

Anne had to think for a moment, harder than any person should have to about something that had happened so recently. Eventually, after about one long, awkward minute, her mouth gaped open and she sighed out an accidental "Oh!" "Yep, Bingo." Serayna said in approval at Anne's remembrance. He looked at Anne, and evil glare in his luring eyes, then quickly back to Serayna, "So, what were you saying about me, Rayna?" He said, using his pet name for her. "Nothing. Nothing important. But, then again, anything said about you wouldn't be, would it?" She smirked at this burn she had just spit at him and he glared at her; the anger welling up inside of him could be seen through his previously calm eyes. "If you'll excuse us for the night, Anne, we have some... Things... To catch up on. Some... 'unfinished business', if you will." He stated plainly, trying to hide his anger behind a wavering voice as he grabbed Serayna's arm and began yanking her up from her seat. She shot a worried glance at Anne, though she was already quick to act. Anne set her hand on His and whispered in a seductive voice, "That won't be necessary, darling. A big, strong beast like you shouldn't trifle yourself with such small catch as her." She started as he looked into her eyes, almost hypnotized by her mesmerizing glances. This was another talent of hers, one she had used to save herself and Serayna many times in the past. "Now, if you'll just come away with me," His hand released the strong grip on Serayna's arm as Anne laced her fingers into his, "we'll finish this so-called 'Business' of yours." She shot him a bright smile and he was instantly hooked.
Go. Run Serayna. Now. I'll take care of myself, don't worry. Oh, and tell James there's nothing to worry about--- you know--- me and him. Tell him I love him I am only helping you. I promise nothing will happen. Anne quickly thought to Serayna as she lured the man into the shadows and out the door into an alleyway. Serayna watched the two leave and then quietly slipped away from the Wyvern Cafe.
In the alley, Anne had the man completely hypnotized by her "charm". She got him to the point of wanting to kiss her. He decided to move in for the landing, but when he was just an inch from her lips, she disintegrated into the gutter as sand and he was left alone in the dark alleyway... Again...

Serayna then realized what had happened. She had let him go... again. She cursed to herself as she climbed the hill. Anne appeared beside her as she made it to the top.
"Anne? What did you do with Panthris?" Anne stared at her, her eyes wide.
"That was Panthris? I thought you meant that was Xavier." Anne said.
"No, Anne. Xavier is blonde. Panthris was the brunette." Serayna cried out. She looked towards the city, her eyes fearful of losing what she had finally gotten.
"Wait... if you like him so much why did you call me over?" Anne asked, suddenly getting angry.
"Because, i haven't talked to him since i was Selena. And it was awkward. And i didn't want to be alone. And what was that? Small catch? I'm not that small of a catch, sister dearest." Serayna shot back. Anne looked startled at Serayna.
"Well if you hadn't given me mixed signals, maybe i wouldn't have screwed it up." Anne growled. Serayna glared.
"If you would finally admit that you're memory wasn't as it used to be and take that stupid potion that i keep making you, maybe things like this wouldn't happen." Serayna said. Anne looked at her.
"You keep making a memory potion? I've never got it." Anne muttered.
"I keep giving it to James. Telling him that this will help you." Serayna said, confusement was clear on Anne's face, and Serayna suddenly realized.
"Anne, are you sure that it was that one dude that cursed you like this?" Serayna whispered.
"James wouldn't do something like that. He loves me." Anne smirked. Serayna gave a weary smile.
"Are you sure that he's not trying to hide something? He's powerful enough to do that." Serayna said. Anne wracked her brain for evidence that it wasn't James' fault, but she couldn't find any. There was no evidence stating that it wasn't James.

Anne stood there beside Serayna, the blank look of a bemused four-year-old spread thickly across her features. Then a series of emotions ranging from fear to sadness to anger appeared as she was obviously deep in thought, contemplating everything Serayna had said, "No. It wasn't James, Serayna. He loves me. He was the one trying to protect me. He was the one who went after... errr... the man--- woman--- the person who backfired my curse. I love James, he would never try to hurt me." However confident she was, she couldn't help but say this last bit any way without it sounding drenched in doubt and fear... Sadness and remembrance...

Serayna gathered up her memories and tried to reconstruct that day. But that was a day she had been visiting... someone else. Panthris She thought.
"Anne... maybe he was trying to protect you from something that had happened. Maybe you witnessed something that when and if you got interrogated for some reason, you didn't just say something about it. Maybe he was protecting you from him." Serayna thought out loud.
Anne stared at Serayna a look of doubt clearly on her face.
"Rayna..." A voice whispered. Serayna whipped around, looking for the source.
"Did you hear that?" Serayna asked looking at Anne. Anne shrugged, a bewildered look on her face...
"I heard him. His voice. Whispering my name. How does he know my name?" Serayna asked.
Anne looked at Serayna like she was nuts. "Who are you talking about? Panthris?" Anne asked her eyes flaring.
"No... Aeilon. I heard him. How does he know that name. He's never heard it before. I'm sure of it." Serayan muttered. Anne looked around, at the clouds gathering for a storm, at the mountains caging them in... and the town just below them.
"Serayna... i think it's time we went in. It's growing dark."
"Rayna... you can not hide. I know who you are... I know..." A voice whispered. This time Anne heard it too.
"Serayna... i think it's time we start running." Anne muttered.
"I agree... Ready, set... GO!" Serayna screamed, as a hand made of storm clouds reached for them.
"This is one of those times where i wonder why i'm still friends with you!" Anne screamed as they ran.
"You know you enjoy the adrenaline rush. And it's not like these things dont' happen to you too!" Serayna replied. Anne laughed as they ran for the Eastern Mountains.

Suddenly Serayna realized... why are we going to the mountains...
Why not the town? Anne... where are we going?

"We can't endanger the town! Haha what, did you think we'd just go there and bring him with us?" Anne laughed, that was the first good point she'd made all day. Score one for Anne. "I see." Serayna replied. The two were getting more tired as they kept running and decided to keep silent to conserve their energy. They ran and ran... For at least a day... Until they had made it to the very top of the forbidden Mountains... A place where no living creature, of the human world or of Palace, had ever been...

Serayna looked around... again there was that tiny voice in her head that said, This place is isolated... with no witnesses. No one will know what happened. No one will think to come here. Had you gone to town, there would have been witnesses... many witnesses and innocent people that maybe he wouldn't still be chasing you... that maybe he would've waited until you were more ready... the voice cooed.
Anne suddenly looked at Serayna... just as Serayna realized it. That wasn't her own voice. That was someone else.
"Anne... i think he's right. I think that maybe he would have left us alone." Serayna quivered. But Anne shook her head.
"Don't! Serayna he's taking over you. You're losing control to him. You're imagining things." Anne whispered.
"But Anne... he's right. If we had gone to the town, maybe he wouldn't have killed the innocent." Serayna reasoned but Anne was stubborn.
"What if he didn't care? What if he wanted to kill you so badly it didn't matter how many people he murdered?" Anne asked. Serayna bowed her head.
"But he's right. Witnesses are terrible for murders. And there would've been a random person who saw their family get killed by him, that they would go looking for him to murder him later. Simple murder logic. Every murderer and killer knows that. Especially werewolves." Serayna said. Anne just nodded realizing her reasons.
"Well now, i guess we'll just wait for murder." Anne said sitting down. Then Serayna shook her head.
"No. I'll distract him, you run away... and i'll stop him. Stop him from harming anybody else." Serayna said. But Anne stood up and disagreed quite loudly.
"NO! That's just what he wants! If you give yourself up to him... he'll kill you." Anne protested.
"Well then i'll just have to kill him in the process." Serayna muttered. Anne shook her head, but she couldn't disagree.
The words welded deep inside. Melting her mind. delayin her bodies reactions. Anne go. I can take care of myself. You know i can do it. You know i have the abilities. You have something you need to do. My life is done. It's ready to leave. I've done my thing. I've molded other people to realize who they are. I may not have done the same for myself. But i helped others. That was my job. Now you have to live to do yours. And i'm not holding you back from this one. Anne nodded and started to walk off when she stopped and looked down.
"What if you're wrong. What if this isn't the end. What if... your life isn't over? What happens then? What will happen to you?" Anne asked.
Go! I can do this. And i know that i'm done. I'm ready. I can do this finally. Before i wouldn't. But now i can. This is my destiny. My legacy. This is my Legend. Serayna whispered. Anne sniffled and walked off... as Serayna started to raise the Earth and Water. Literally.

Anne melted away in the wind and reappeared in James's house. She was now sitting across from him at the kitchen table; he didn't notice her arrival, he had his nose buried in a newspaper. When he stopped to look at the clock on the wall above the chair Anne was sitting in, he jumped, "Jesus, Anne! You always have to do that?" Anne giggled and nodded in agreement as she watched James calm himself down. She got up from her chair and went over to hug him, kissing him lightly on the cheek. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I'll be a little noisier next time." James stood up and turned to face her, "You so did not scare me. Just surprised is all." "Right. And I'm guessing your heart is just racing because you're happy?" "Well you are here now, aren't you?" James smiled in reply and Anne hugged him tighter, sighing in relief as she felt like her troubles had melted away. James always did that to her; his happy, laid-back attitude affected her when she need it most and he made her forget anything she might've been worried about. They stood there for one long minute; saying nothing, thinking nothing, just standing there suspended in the moment as the world around them froze and nothing else mattered. Finally, James broke the long silence as he whispered in Anne's ear, "Marry me?"
