This place seemed so unreal... The old-fashioned Mansion that stood at the end of the street had not been inhabited for quite some years now and it was begining to make that fact evident. Annabella Lafluer walked up that old cobblestone path once again, remembering the last time she was here... Except she had been sobbing, and running in the opposite direction she was headed now. As she approached the first of the three wide steps before the front door, she whispered to herself, "The first step, for new experiences," She stepped up again, "The second step, for old memories," She stepped up once more, "The third step, to open the door." She was here. She was home. She was safe... For now... ______________

Dark times brought them all together. And in times of peace and prosperity they were torn apart. Anne saw the pattern even if no one else did. Serayna was not all she seemed, there was something under the surface that was hard to explain.
Serayna walked inside the old house of Anne's friend. Her hand flowing over the sofa and kitchen table, like she was sensing something. Anne knew it was just something she did. Serayna didn't want to disturb the peacefulness of the room and the memories that lay beneath the white cloth. BUt when she stopped Anne thought of something.
Maybe Serayna was sensing for something. A memory... a clue. Perhaps but who knew with Serayna. Serayna flipped up the cloth and saw a letter hidden among the dust. Anne watched as Serayna picked it up carefully and opened it with one of her slender fingers.
Dear Annabella, my love,
I'm sorry i had to leave you like this. You and your child were not meant for me. Your big brown eyes and sharp nose will not persuade me this time. I need to leave. Leave and NOT come back. These are dark times. And i feel as if we are headed nowhere. Please forgive me when i say sorry. I must leave you now for my new life awaits beyond the Horizon. The Revolution began and we were left behind. I wish to see what it was like. Perhaps grow rich. May our travels and paths journey far. For a meeting of our love shall never happen again.
With everlasting adoration and love, Daniel LeStouge, Count of Hapshire
Anne read the letter and realized why Annabella ran away into the mountains never to be seen again. She didn't want the chance to cross paths. Anne heard footsteps and hid, Serayna didn't move. She had no memories of anything, so this letter led her down a path of her imagination Anne dared not venture.
The door opened and a man walked in. He was Anne's age, tall with dark brown hair and pale skin. His eyes were big and brown and he was pretty good looking but Anne was married and knew such thoughts were... unusual.
He walked towards Serayna and wrapped his arms around her, she didn't move but acknowledged his presence.
"Fantasies and dreams, fairy tales alike. As much as i love you, as much as you like This can not be, this cannot happen. Your mood is not mean to dampen At these words but know i speak the truth When i say that i love you" Serayna rhymed.
Anne then felt her jaw drop. The man disappeared. She looked like an anime character when she was confused. The vein throbbing her forehead, the sweat drop on the other side her eyes completely blank.
"What just happened?! Serayna i'm confused." Anne screamed. Serayna shrugged. And Anne realized that maybe it was in her mind.
Serayna wouldn't have known poetic stuff. They had only just traded memories. There was no way... unless love went farther than just memories and brain space... As Anne thought about this she felt a new way of thinking open up inside of her. There... right in front of her was a way of thinking so unusual it was alien.
Perhaps you don't need to be coherent to love...

Anne stepped out from behind the old grand piano she had hid behind and walked across the musty parlor to, what looked like it once was, a kitchen. Looking through the doorway, the dusty room faded to brand new and in it, was a cheerful young lady baking a cake. She was pregnant, maybe 6 months along, and a lot more energetic than most in her state. She stirred the batter as she hummed a joyous tune and rubbed her tummy lovingly. But then, just as the scene warmed up and Anne could feel the wholeness emanating from the woman and her soon-to-be child, everything faded once more, but this time, to gray. The woman grew sad and she wailed in pain as her ghostly self faded away. The kitchen was in its current state once again, dusty and unused, forgotten and unloved. Anne rubbed her eyes, this was the weirdest way of thinking she'd ever come across. She could see all that Anabella was, all that she did. What had happened to her? Whatever it was, it was bad, and it happened in this house. She didn't run off to the mountains and simply disappear. No, it was much more complicated than that. Annabella was murdered. And she was murdered in this very house.
"What?!?" Serayna said, her eyes practically popping out of her head in shock at what Anne had just told her, "What do you mean you have a 'connection' to her? She's still alive, you know. It's not like she died or ki-" "Killed herself." Anne finished Serayna's last sentence with a grave expression about her as she turned to face the window, "She killed herself, or someone killed her. But it happened here, and here she remains. She's showing me her memories. She wants me to know what really happened to her. That man, the one who hugged you. She showed him to me as if you were her in that moment. His hug, the love he tried to show, was fake. So obviously fake. She was to have his child and he was afraid of the responsibilities that would come with it. Serayna," Anne said turning back to her, "I think Daniel killed Annabella." At that moment, the candles that lit the dimming room blew out and thunder boomed in the skies outside. The gray clouds that loomed over the world began to unmercifully cry showers of rain. The girls knew they'd be staying here for the night. "Well then there's not much I can help you with. I mean, she's obviously not trying to tell me anything, all I can see in this place is a dusty old junk heap. So, I'll sit here on the couch, maybe catch a few 'Z's, and call for me if something goes wrong, m'kay?" Serayna said as she jumped onto the creaky old sofa that looked like it was struggling with even her amount of weight after all those years of not being used. She stretched out like a cat in the sun and propped her feet up on the arm rest. Anne nodded and made her way to the staircase. It went up in one direction for a few steps, and then spiraled off in two directions. Anne went right and found herself in a long hallway with many doors. At the end of the hallway, stood two very large oak doors, locked. However, the lock had rusted and grown weaker over the years and Anne had little trouble getting in. Opening the doors, she saw an old man, dead in a bed, and a young woman holding his hand and kneeling on the floor beside him sobbing. This was when Annabella's father died. Anne said a prayer for the two, and closed the doors. She walked a little ways down the hallway into another room.

It had been a few hours since Anne had found the file room. Every piece of record from Annabella's family over the years was in this room. Receipts for stuff bought, Certificates for fighting in the French Revolution, Medal of Honors, Birth Records, Family Trees, and Notes of Discharge. Anne had to find what was so important in this house. Some proof that Annabella was still alive.
Then it happened again. Like in the Kitchen and in the room, Anne saw something. The odd thing was it wasn't this room, it was another. She saw Annabella, screaming and sweating. She was in labor, a man who Anne recognized instantly as James' father was helping her.
Is James the child of Annabella? What is going on here? Anne thought, but she continued to watch unable to really do anything else.
Finally after about a half hour of screaming and pain for Annabella, the baby came. James' father, Tarith smiled. "It is a girl." He said joyfully. Annabella was so happy she was crying.
"I shall name you... Melaina." Annabella whispered. Anne thought it was odd. She didn't know anyone by the name of Melaina. But just then, she remembered it. As if it was yesterday.
'Her real name was also her Palace name. Melaina was her Mortal name. Her palace name was...'(Dromio p1) Anne remembered it even though she hadn't been there. And she knew it was part of the swap with Serayna. And everything came together.
'Yea, Elizabeth and Gregory were good parents. They adopted us fourteen kids and raised us all just fine. I'm glad they adopted me instead of some crack job.'
The swap with Serayna had sort of started a chain of events. Annabella was alive and knew of the trade between Serayna and Anne. Obviously she was showing Anne who knew this stuff instead of Serayna who didn't.
Serayna was Annabella's daughter. Right then Anne heard a scream from downstairs. "Serayna!"
She bolted downstairs and saw Serayna curled up in a ball downstairs hiding as far as she could away from what looked like a musty old hag.
"INFERNO DETAINUS!" Anne screamed and a fire cage surrounded the hag.
"NO!!! LET ME TO HER!!! IT IS MY RIGHT! MY RIGHT!" The hag screamed in pain and fury. But she took a breath and relaxed a bit. "Inferno depletus." And the fire just disappeared.
Anne was shocked. Who is she? But the moment she thought it she knew who it was.
"Annabella." Anne whispered. Serayna looked between Anne and Annabella.
"Okay, what?" She asked. She couldn't believe her ears.
"Serayna, this is Annabella. I'm pretty sure she's your mother."

Serayna looked in frightened confusion at the old woman, who just smiled back at her in utter disbelief-- A beautiful expression of the shock when one realizes they aren't alone in the world after all. But Serayna didn't return the smile. She was scared. She looked at the old woman with a look of anger, almost disgust, written plainly across her face. "I--" Serayna began, but found herself at a loss for words when she saw the old woman drop to her knees and pray, tears of joy welling up in her eyes. Serayna again tried to speak, this time, succeeding "I have no mother." Her words hung coldly in the air, like sharp icicles hanging above the woman's head, ready to drop through to her chest and break her heart at any moment. Annabella looked up from her praying at the face of her beautiful, strong daughter. How could this be? How could she not remember her own mother? "Sweetie?... You don't recognize me? You don't know? It's me! It's your mummykins! Oh, no. Please Serayna, my darling, say you remember me!!" Annabella fell to her hands, face to the floor, sobbing as if she lost someone near and dear to her. "Oh I remember you, Annabella. I've heard stories of you-- a great many tales. And if you are my mother, I know you not as a motherly figure, but as a traitor. As the traitor you are. A title you so rightfully deserve." Serayna yelled at Annabella "Serayna!" Anne yelped at her in disbelief. "No, Anne! That's not going to work anymore! This is family business now! My life is ruined and its all HER FAULT!!!!" Serayna threw a fierce punch at Annabella. Anne jumped in front of her taking the injury instead of letting it be brought onto a 76 year old woman who was in probably her last few, sickly months. Anne fell to the floor, blood pouring out of her nose and upper lip. Serayna had definitely been practicing and there was no doubt in Anne's mind that, had Annabella been the one to receive the punch, she would've been sprawled dead on the floor with a broken neck and jaw.
Anne looked up dizzily at Serayna, whom there was now 3 of because the room was spinning as well. Anne's nose was definitely broken, and her lip would need several stitches if it was ever going to heal. She didn't care. She was too shocked at Serayna to feel the pain anyways. She got to her feet, stepping protectively back in front of the old woman, "Serayna, you have no idea what you've just gotten yourself into. I will kill you, or die trying, if I have to in order to protect the Queen." Anne glared glared at Serayna as she gasped. "What do you mean the Queen?!?" Serayna questioned in disbelief, "She is no Queen! This wench is nothing more than a beggar off the streets that I, so stupidly, once called my mother!" She spat on the floor next to where the woman lie, curled up in fear. "I can't believe your crap, Rayna!! Who are you going to believe? Your best friend- the person who saw what happened not even fifteen minutes ago-- me, or some story you heard from your sweet little Dromio??" "What?" "Yeah. Why don't you try getting another person's side of the story for once. Maybe then you'll know the truth and you won't have to go around beating up innocent old women and calling them names!" Anne gestured towards Annabella, who was trying to get calmly to her feet after all the commotion. She held onto Anne's shoulder for support, and tried to suppress a cough so as not to be any more noticed than she already was. "Oh, and by the way. Your mother only wanted to discuss your royal coronation with you over a glass of wine, but I guess you're just too good for that, so I'll have the Queen's messenger give you word of the goings on. Until next we meet, have an eventful day, your highness." Anne gave a slight bow to Serayna before she turned to leave. Annabella, still clinging to Anne's shoulders, led the way to the chariot.

Suddenly the memories came back. All the memories that had been traded from Serayna to Anne came back. Serayna's eyes rolled in the back of her head and she writhed where she stood. The memories Anne had, receded from her mind to Serayna's and Serayna remembered the Council once more.
"So that's who we gave our memories to?" Selena asked. Serayna nodded and Cadmus clucked her tongue.
"She doesn't remember that she's the one who told you of your mother's betrayal or that you were to forget everything." Kylo reminded them as she sat on the window pane. There were more people standing around and Serayna recognized them as ancestors. She had seen pictures when she still had her memory.
"We were able to track down the spirits of our family. We still have more to go, but. Now that we found Annabella, things will be much easier." Phoenix explained. Serayna nodded.
"Alright. So maybe swapping memories wasn't the best idea. How about we try... no that couldn't work." A voice said from behind Serayna. It was Dania, her great great grandmother.
"What wouldn't work?" Her sister said. They were both in their 20's. It was amazing how everyone here didn't look over 26.
"Well, you know how we separated from the rest of the world right after the Industrial Revolution?" Dania asked. Everyone nodded.
"Well, they've probably expanded since then, so they might have the solution to our problem. We insert memories of ours and Anne's liking into her mind." Dania said as if it was obvious. And Serayna felt bad because she didn't think of it.
"Alright, then who wants to go?" Serayna asked. They all looked at her.
"RIght, i'm the only one who's actually alive." Serayna said. They all smiled and nodded.
And she was back. She rushed outside to see Anne had collapsed and Annabella was staring at her in shock unable to do anything.
"Hi Mom, sorry about that. Me and Anne swapped memories cause she didn't have any and the council said that was a bad idea, cause obviously it didn't work. So, we have a better plan hopefully it'll work." Serayna said quickly. Annabella stared at Serayna.
"So my child is back?" She asked tears welling in her eyes.
"Yea, Anne's mom betrayed her. So that memory was coming through. Anne should be waking up soon. The council is gonna try and make her forget that whole thing. But being Anne she won't and she'll use it against me and the Council one day. You know the whole drama bit." Anne woke up then and Serayna gave some story about a fall.
"Weren't we in the library?" Anne asked looking around very confused.
"Uh... no." Serayna said quickly. She knew Anne already knew the truth. Anne was Anne like that.
"So what wine were you suggesting mother?" Serayna said turning to Annabella.
"I was thinking Asti white wine. It's tastes delectable." Annabella said. Serayna nodded excitedly.
"Of course. White wine is the best. Anne are you coming?" Serayna said turning back to Anne. She nodded solemnly and got up. This was gonna be a long day.

As they rode in the chariot on the way to the palace, Anne watched the world speed by outside. It seemed strange to her, then something bright in her hand caught her eye... Her wedding ring. It sparkled in the sunlight that slipped in between her fingers. Turning it back around the right way, she examined it lovingly. She plucked a bit of fluff off the side of it and spun it around her finger a few times, watching mesmerized as the sunlight danced upon it's smooth surface. Anne snapped back into reality as the grand chariot pulled to a stop in front of a royal palace. She looked again out the window, but this time, none of the world was speeding past her. It stood still in sweet tranquility.
As the little chariot door swung open, Anne slowly climbed out, deep in thought, only to be lovingly intercepted by James who picked her up and spun her around. The next thing she knew, she was standing on the ground again and James was gone. She looked around, a bit confused, and then, there he stood in the garden to her left. She walked towards him and embraced him in a huge cuddle. Then, they walked off together, leaving Serayna and he mother to their business...

Ronan watched from the room upstairs. He felt like a young boy staring at his sister. The problem was, like with Skash, he didn't know which one was actually related to him. He had been told that she looked like him, but thank you for random genetics. They both looked nothing like him.
Serayna had been gone for over ten years, exploring finding things to get her in trouble. And Anne had stayed in the mortal realm until she found her way into the ripple. They say that she and her brother, possibly brothers, had escaped the massacre and mob of people who had come to murder them and their parents. Their parents, unfortunately, didn't make it.
Serayna had always been in here. She hadn't known anything else. And didn't want to. She had heard and read stories, the true tales of how Palace had receded. And when. And she was glad she was born here before the true stupidity had started.
Serayna looked up at the window and saw Ronan. She recognized him instantly and waved. He waved back and smiled. This was a good moment. It was said that Serayna was heir to the throne. But that Anne had a family line that had a right to the throne. You could tell Annabella knew, and so did Serayna.
They didn't want to tell Anne, because you know Anne would... well Ronan didn't actually know why they wouldn't tell Anne.
They're not selfish or greedy. Annebella and Serayna are nice people they wouldn't withold information. Not like that. Ronan thought looking at Serayna's back now that she had turned away.
Another thought entered his head. Maybe Serayna doesn't know. Maybe Anne knows and just doesn't want the throne? Who knew?

Anne sat on the stone bench in the middle of the center gardens hugging her knees. James sat next to her with his arm around her and his face buried in her hair. Anne had her head rested on her knees and she snuggled into James' embrace. She was confused, he could tell she was stressed, and she didn't know how much more of this she could take. James picked up one of the wavy strands of her hair and twirled it gently through his fingers. She sighed. What to do?
"Hello, Mother." Serayna said bowing to her mother with a slight smile as she entered the north side of the extravagantly vast tea garden. Annabella smiled lightly to her daughter and offered her a seat. She spoke with extreme intelligence, grace, and set a feeling of importance about her with even the slightest glance. "Hello Love. How are you this fine hour?" The Queen spoke softly. "Wonderful. Now, let's get down to business, if you don't mind." Serayna smirked as she took her seat and picked up her teacup, taking a sip and placing it back on the saucer.

OOC: Dude you said something about continuing it later... ugh... fine....
IC: Serayna barely listened to her mother as she explained the proceedings for the next few days. Things were gonna go pretty fast around here. Serayna looked up at the sky, and could tell, even though it was mid day, that the moon was almost full.
Anne got up out of James' embrace and stood next to Serayna who gave her a quick smile, and quickly receeded back into her own mind of mass confusing destruction and territorial misdemeanors.
"And a monkey will continually lick it's genitals in the fountain of cherry gumdrops." The queen said interrupting Serayna's thoughts. Anne looked from mother to daughter wondering what just happened.
"Um... mother?" Serayna asked looking at Annabella. Anne smiled keeping herself from laughing.
"Just making sure you were paying attention, hun. What's on your mind dearie? You seem far off as if a journey has begun but your mind is just not with it." Annabella whispered.
"It has. This journey. The journey of my life. My mind has no idea where to go. Or what to do. There's nothing but a spring of thoughts trickling through. I have barely scratched the surface just to have the current sweep me away again. In a few days i will have The Curse upon me, and instincts will push through. Meaning i have to travel to the highest mountains just so that i don't eat anyone." Serayna said deeply. Her mother looked at her sympathetically.
Anne felt sympathy vampires were continually like that. Werewolves changed every full moon, and you never knew the full extent of a werewolves hunger. I mean it's a wonder Serayna was so skinny, Anne had seen her eat as a werewolf and wow!
"I'm sure its not that bad. We all overexaggerate about our... Womanly time, there's nothing to worry about. Advil and tampons will be sent to your room immediately. No one will bother you for a week... i promise you." Her mother said. Serayna and Anne exchanged glances quickly before practically falling over laughing.
"What is it? What did i say?" The Queen demanded looking at the two girls cracking up.
Serayna looked up at her mother and smiled. Wiping away tears Anne chuckled, "We still have so much to tell you."

OOC: HAHAHAHAHA OMFG ROFLMAO!!!!!!!! THAT'S SO AWESOME!!!!!!!! haha i love you for this!!!!!! Oh and I can stay at your house the entire week right?
IC: The queen stared at the two in confusion and she, too, began to laugh at her own assumptions, "Well then, dears, lets discuss it over supper, shall we?" The old woman smiled pleasantly at Serayna, then at Anne who was laughing at James. James had nearly fallen over and died laughing at the sound of the word "tampons". He had his head buried in Anne's shoulder as he shook, trying to stop laughing. Anne nodded to the Queen and thanked her for the invitation, and then walked James to their room. This would surely be an eventful week. Before they left, though, Anne turned back to Serayna and said "Thank you, too." Serayna knew what for. Anne didn't want to take the throne, she never had. Castles and fairytale life was great, but she didn't feel she could handle the responsibility of ruling over the actual world of Magician's Palace successfully alone. They had discussed this once before. Serayna offered Anne a place to live with her in the castle, and she joyfully accepted. Anne also very grateful that James would now be able to live with her too.
In her room, Serayna found a magnificent ball gown hanging on the door hangers to her walk-in closet. Examining the dress, she could easily see that it was of her favorite colors, and it was made of her favorite fabrics. She loved it, and would be wearing it to dinner that night.
In Anne and James' room, James stepped into the closet and shut the door behind him. Anne sat on a chair by a desk and waited, as he had asked her to. A few minutes later when he came back out, he was humming the Miss Magician (same rhythm as Miss America song) song and said in a smooth tone, "Annie, darling... My dearest," He said, only peeking his head around the door, "I have a confession to make." He giggled a hummed more of the Miss Magician tune as he stepped out of the closet, "I'm," finally he was in full view and Anne burst out laughing, "'coming out of the closet'." He struck a pose in Anne's ball gown and showed a bit of leg. Anne fell out of her chair onto the floor gasping for breath and laughing. A tear streamed down her cheek and she hugged her sides. Trying to stand up, she used the desk for support. When she looked to where James was, he too had fallen over laughing and was now gasping for breath. He snapped his fingers and then was wearing what he had been before he put the dress on. He walked over to Anne, both of them still crying laughing, and hugged her. "Juuuuuuust--- kidding!!" They both continued to laugh, that image would forever be stuck in Anne's mind. She said, "I know---you were---but hey---green suits you!" They started laughing more and James kissed her lightly on the top of the head. After a few minutes, they were finally able to control themselves, and decided it would probably be best to take a nap before dinner, so they went to bed.
Serayna had been watching and following along with Anne's thoughts because Anne had told her something good was probably going to happen. She had seen the whole closet scene, and yeah, it was good. She couldn't stop laughing, but also couldn't help feeling a bit scarred for life after seeing that. She zapped out of Anne's mind and agreed that it was a good idea to take a nap. She too, went to bed. Luckily, they all only slept until an hour before dinner, leaving them plenty of time to get ready.
