Dead silence.... Every sound... A sixteen year old boy turned around to see a fourteen year old girl sitting by a gray tombstone crying. The boy walked torwards her and sat next to her. "Your still scared, aren't you Destiny," the boy said taking her hand. "Fakir, you know I want Dad back, but he's never coming," Destiny said as the tear streamed down her face . Fakir stroked her hair. "Just don't worry, Mom's having the case continued," Fakir said trying to cheer her up. "Whatever, you can try to make me forget about it, but Fakir you can't make me forget my own father's death," Destiny said crying harder than ever."Destiny, please don't cry that hard," Fakir said putting her into a warm loving hug. "I'm trying not to Fakir, but it's so hard!," she said still crying. A tear stroked Fakir's cheek . He wiped it from his face, trying to be strong. Fakir let go of Destiny and got up. "Destiny, let's go home and change out of these formal clothes then we'll walk around town," Fakir said holding out his hand. Destiny looked and grasped his hand. Fakir helped her up and walked out of the cemetery.

Serayna sat in the shadows of the silent graveyard... wondering what had happened that had made Destiny cry that hard...

Anne appeared behind Serayna to lay a hand on her shoulder, only to feel her jump and prepare to attack. She spun around, realizing it was only Anne. "Geeze! Why do you always have to do that?" Serayna whispered fiercely. Anne did not answer. She had a distant look in her bright green eyes that told her Anne knew much more about the Gregory family than anyone else did. "You know them, I'm assuming?" "Fakir and I go way back. Back before any of these messes arose in the lands of Palace. I rememer when his baby sister, Destiny, was born. I also remember their parents, and their brother. I have trouble remembering those names but never the less, it breaks my heart to see them in such pain. They are close family friends of mine. They took me and James in when our own parents wouldn't... They loved us... We had family for once and we thought no one could ever take them away... Until it happened..."

Anne's tears started to fall... and Serayna lurched forward to hug her. The hug was long, and awkward. Anne was crying for reason unknown to Serayna.
"It's ok... let it all out. It's the best way to get rid of the pain." Serayna whispered. Anne nodded and sat down... starting to tell the story.

"Fakir and I were born and raised in the same general area of town, on the outskirts of the big city amongst the lush green hills, just by the river..."
Anne began to paint a picture in the grey skies for Serayna to see. Out of a puff of smoke that Anne blew from her hand, a beautiful meadow could be seen with a wide river running through the hills. With plenty of trees and farm animals and two small cottages, placed side by side, almost cheerfully sitting there next to eachother on this warm summer day. A young girl, Anne, about five or six years old, was running through the tall grass that reached up to her shoulders. She was chasing a little boy who was only a few years older at most, this boy was Fakir. The two children had stopped after a few minutes of playing, they sat in the grass, completely hidden from the outside world, free to get lost in their own childish imaginations.
As the day grew later, the clouds in the sky moved in and grew darker, a storm was approaching. The children could smell the moisture in the air. "We should go inside Anne. It's getting darker and the clouds are moving in so it's gonna rain soon." Anne nodded in agreement and the two got up and started to run to Fakir's house. When they finally got there, they noticed a darkly-clothed, hooded figure, walking away from the houses, quite a ways away, but walking at a fast speed. As they got closer to the house, Fakir noticed that the front door was swinging open into the house. The two children looked at eachother, a thousand questions in their eyes. Then they ran into the house and saw what no child should ever have to see. Fakir's younger brother was lying on the rug, dead, with Destiny, his baby sister, crying in the cradle next to him. "Mom!! Dad!!" Fakir screamed, no answer was returned. "MOMMY!!!!!!! DADDY!!!!!" he screamed again. When, again, no one answered, he brok down crying. Anne ran out to her house and brought her older brother Jacob back. He jumped when he saw his best friend lying dead on the floor and soon noticed a not tucked under the floor mat. Jacob was 14 at the time, but he had the mentality of a 21-year-old. He knew this wasn't right. Jacob picked up the letter and slowly began to unwrap the scroll he now held in his hands... He trembled all over and goosebumps ran up and down his spine, over and over. He read quietly to himself, then aloud to the children.

Serayna was shaken awake by Anne's abrubt ending...
"What then?" Serayna demanded, then after a glare from Anne, she realized what she had done. "Sorry... that was really good. I meant to say it nicer, but you know me! I love making cliff hangers, hate it when they're made against me." Anne nodded.
"A natural hypocrite," She replied. Serayna chuckled and nodded, agreeing completely.
The story began again, the picture in the clouds starting to get cloudy. Serayna could tell somehow, part of this was what... HE had erased...

Anne finished, tears welling up in her green eyes as she sniffled the last bit of the story into existence. She, too, was learning this for the first time. He indeed had erased this from her memory, but something about being in the graveyard had made her remember until she was telling a story that even she didn't know. She took a deep breath, her whole body was shaking from fear and from cold. The cold normally wouldn't bother her, but, for some reason, she was feeling more and more human as the months dragged on. The more time she spent with James, the more alive she felt, and the more real her heart became. Finally getting her memory back wasn't helping either. She was slowly learning how to love again, with all her heart, like she used to when she was human. She would soon be able to release her heart entirely to anyone she wanted, like she was able to when she was a living child. She was learning the importance of life and love, and she finally felt she knew what true happiness could mean. Then, she thought back to the previous days she had spent at James's house... And the day she said yes... Her answer to the one question that would change her life forever. But, somehow, she felt in the back of her mind, that the day she loved to remember, had yet to come... Like she, or someone affecting her, was a living premonition...
Anne whispered a few words into the chill air and she and Serayna appeared in an old room of the Porter cottage. Serayna didn't question why Anne had brought them here, she just hugged her comfortingly, as any best friend normally would.

Ronan looked in on the two just sitting there... staring at each other as if reawakening after 50 long years. He couldn't tell if the way they stared at each other was from awe at how they had changed or disappointment that they had changed.
As he turned around he looked into another room of the house. It was a sad sight. The furniture was covered with white sheets, dust accumulated everywhere, and there was silver everywhere that there wasn't white. Ronan was curious about why it was there.
He walked into the room, and touched the first thing he could find, and the memories came rushing at him. A wave of them crashing down on him. Pain and Happiness were found greatly, sarcasm and disappointment, this house was loaded with normality. But Ronan found the one he was looking for. A memory of Jacob.
A woman walked into the house, a little child by her side and a bundle of blankets in her arms. A man followed looking happy as he could be.
"Welcome! This is your new home! Welcome to the Porter House." The woman cooed to the bundle of blankets. The child at her side tugged her dress, the woman smiled as she looked at the child. She knelt down and handed the bundle to the child.
"Here you go, Jacob. Your baby brother, Ro..." But the rest was cut off. As Ronan came out of the memories, he realized there was a hand on his shoulder. Serayna stood behind him, crying.
"Who are you?" She asked silently. Ronan looked around. He didn't know how to explain it. He didn't even know himself who he was.
"Ronan Caius Devlin." He said, the only thing he really knew about himself.
"What are you doing here?" She asked. More questions He thought.
"I feel connected to this place." Ronan answered. Serayna frowned, and looked over her shoulder.
"That's Anne, and I'm Serayna. She's getting married in a few days, and she doesn't need any more drama. Ronan you need to leave." Serayna said, pushing him a little. But Ronan didn't want to leave. There was something about this place that reminded him of something.
"Who was the child?" Ronan asked. And Serayna stopped pushing.
"The child was my brother Jacob. My older brother. The baby... disappeared a few days after that memory." Anne spoke for the first time since Ronan had gotten there.
"He too was my older brother. And don't seem so shocked. I can read minds. I saw that memory. I saw what you saw. I wasn't born then. Not yet." Anne whispered. Ronan opened his mouth to say something back, but couldn't reply.
"I think it's best if we leave, Ronan." Serayna said dragging Ronan out of the room. Ronan nodded silently, his mouth still open.
The last thing he saw as he left the house was when he looked over his shoulder at one quick glance at Anne again, he saw her crying. He wondered who the baby was, and where he had gone.
Ronan looked around and saw that Serayna was not touching his skin, when he turned around and almost touched her skin she shivied away.
"I know what you can do. I'm not dumb. I had a friend who could do that. and everytime we touched he would see another thing i didn't want him to see. And once he saw something that no one needed to see. A secret. And he got killed because he knew it. I don't want that happening again." Serayna said quietly, Ronan nodded and let it go.
He had a feeling that getting on her bad side, might be a bad idea.

Anne watched as Serayna and Ronan silently left the house. For a long time, she stood in place, watching the dust clouds swirl chaotically in the light from the window. She let her mind wander, far away, to places it might have not otherwise dared to venture. Everything was becoming clear again, and she was thrilled that there was at least one member of her family left alive other than herself. Finally, she walked over to her mother's old rocking chair; the place where Isadora Porter used to sit and rock her children gently to sleep in the comfort of her arms as she hummed them a soft lullaby of the past. Anne curled up on the seat and hugged her knees in front of her. She rocked herself back and forth until she was sleeping silently. Remembering the comforts of being held in another's arms, she drifted off to sleep in her lifeboat of serenity. After all those years of feeling lost in a sea of forgotten memories, she finally felt that she had found her way back to her sanity.
-3 days later-
"Serayna, what do you think of this?" Anne stepped out from behind a curtain to model the dress she was wearing for Serayna. "I still think I like the other one better. It's more you, this one's more--" Serayna struggled to find the right words. "Evangeline Archer?" Anne asked, playully scrunching up her nose and making a disgusted face. "Exactly! This one just has to much sparkle and stringy things all over it." Serayna replied as she made her fifth dress observation of the day. She walked around Anne, looking the dress up and down, but still wasn't satisfied with it, "Yeah, no. Just not feeling it. Like, it's not shouting your name when you wear it." Serayna looked at the clothing rack behind her, "How about this one?" She held up a beautiful white dress in front of Anne. Anne looked the dress over and nodded, "Well, it's worth a shot. We've got all day to do this so we might as well try as many as we can!" She flashed Serayna a wide grin and swept the dress out of her hands, closing the curtain around the platform she was standing on. After a few minutes of ruffling and zipping, Anne pulled the curtain open to reveal the most stunning dress she had ever seen. Next to the mirror across from her, Anne could see the expression change on Serayna's face so quickly, that she knew this would be the dress. This was the one she was going to wear on her walk down the isle in the church. In this dress, she would take the steps toward a new life; she would take the steps from her life as Miss Anne Porter and into her new life as one of the members of the--

As Serayna watched Anne try on the dress, she felt empty. As if there was something... missing. Serayna just put on a fake smile and kept a happy composure, at least until the wedding was over.
"Anne, you've found the dress." Serayna exclaimed brightly, knowing Anne had so much to do on her hands. "What's next?" Serayna asked looking down at the list Anne had made of what to do.
"The Bride's Maids dresses." Anne said cautiously. Serayna looked up, her eyes dark and hatred welling out. She smiled as a joke between her and Anne flared up.
"Yes i know, you want to wear a tux... but you are my Maid of Honor, and well boys still look good in dresses." Anne said keeping a laugh inside.
"You have got to be kidding! What color?" Serayna asked, but as she did so, she saw something. Or someone. "Wait, hold that thought. I thought i saw... Him..." Serayna said quietly. He was standing now a few feet away.
She rushed forward, tapping him on the shoulder. He turned around and it was him. Serayna gasped, and he smiled. "Rayna..." He whispered.
"Panthris!" Serayna exclaimed jumping into a hug. He caught her and chuckled.
"Serayna... guess what the color is." Anne said as Serayna walked back to her friend.
"Just because you're evil pink, isn't it?" Serayna asked ruefully, and Anne smiled.
"Nope!"

Ronan watched the Bridal Shop, laughing as Serayna jokingly tried to squeeze Anne into a Yellow Tube top/ mini skirt combo. But then someone walked up behind Ronan, making him tense.
"Who are you?" Ronan asked, sensing whoever it was behind him.
"My name is Panthris... Who are you?" The man asked. Ronan could feel him tense, a power ran through his veins.
"Ronan." He said shortly. He could tell the other nodded.
"Is that Serayna in there? What is she doing?" Panthris asked looking at the girls.
"Serayna is talking Anne into wearing an electric blue robe to her wedding with a tannish dress." Ronan said looking at what Serayna was holding up. Panthris chuckled.
"Wow, Serayna hasn't changed at all. Hey aren't you the guy that was leading the investigation against my death?" Panthris asked. Ronan looked over his shoulder and smiled.
"Yep. I was also the one that found out you weren't dead, it was your twin brother. Who is irrelevant to this story." Ronan said turning around.
"Do you know Serayna personally?" Panthris asked kind of nervously.
"You sound nervous... ya, i know Serayna personally. Why?" Ronan asked turning around.
"Because... i'm leaving for the Mortal Realm in a few days. And she doesn't know. I was hoping to tell her today. But she looks so happy. I don't know what to do now." Panthris explained.
"Well tell her it's business." Ronan said without question.
"But that would be lying. I could never lie to Serayna. Anyway Anne would know. She can read your mind." Panthris explained.

"Well, as soon as Anne hears, just think to ask her not to mention anything to Serayna." Ronan replied with a shrug. Panthris nodded, what else could he do? He slowly walked up to the large glass doors and rested his hand on the cold metal bar. He sighed deeply, took one last look at Serayna's beautifully sparkling smile, and pulled the door open. Serayna sensed his presence in the room. She turned around and looked directly into his darkened eyes. He wore a melancholy expression upon his gorgeous face and he had his very own aura about him that just didn't seem fit for his usual exuberant self. Serayna's expression melted as he walked closer to the two girls, "Panthris, what's-" "Serayna, please." Panthris held up his hand, he could already see the tears welling up in Serayna's eyes, "I don't know of any other way to tell you this," Panthris stumbled upon his thoughts. At a loss for words, he attempted to continue. That's when Anne caught on. She glared at Panthris as he pleaded to her in his mind and finally, he felt it was safe to continue; Anne would almost surely keep quiet, "I'm-- I am-- er- going away. For a long time, Serayna. My Love, it pains me to have to tell you this on such short notice, and ruin such a happy moment for the two of you, but I've been summoned to the mortal realm-- on business, you see. I so truly do not want to leave you, Dearest, but I have not any other choice. Please, I beg for your forgiveness as I leave you this gloomy January day." Panthris bowed to her. Serayna only gave him a flinty, disapproving look in return. She nodded, trying to hold back the tears as she swallowed the lump in her throat and began slowly, "So it is today then?" "No. I depart at the new day's begin. I shall miss you greatly, for you are the greatest friend I've had. We've always been honest." With this last remark, Anne gave a slight cough, Panthris glared at her for a second and returned to Serayna's attention. "Well, then. Let it be so." Serayna turned her back on him, her shoulders quivering as she fought to keep her cries subtle. "Please, one more thing. I still beg your forgiveness. Will you, Serayna Joel Evi, ever be able to forgive me?" He asked as he took a step closer. When she didn't reply, he turned away and left in silence. Anne stepped closer to Serayna and hugged her tightly. "Will you be alright?" She asked sympathetically. "Please don't worry about my matters, Anne." Serayna sniffled as she wiped her face, "Besides," She began, putting on her most convincing smile at the moment, "today is all about you! There's only six more days until you wedding day." She continued to smile as she gave Anne another quick hug. "Alright, if you're sure." Anne began to giggle, "Now, about those bridesmaid dresses..." She held up a giant, fluffy, hot pink, glittery, thing on a hanger. "Oh--my---god." Serayna's jaw just about hit the floor, along with her eyes that almost popped out of her head. "There is no way I'm getting into that Barbie reject." Serayna joked. Anne only shrugged and pushed the dress into her hands. Guiding her up the steps, Anne closed the curtain and added, "Don't forget to show me when you've got it on!" She laughed as she thought up more ways to get her best friend's mind off of Panthris's sudden departure. After a few minutes, Anne heard a zipper slide up and the curtain pulled back. There stood Serayna, in the most hideous dress in the universe. She took one look in the mirror and her jaw hit the floor again. Anne was trying to fight back a monstrous laugh as she stared at Serayna. Surprisingly, she didn't look all that bad in it, she actually made it work in a weird, unusual way. After a few seconds of just staring at Anne with a straight face, Serayna almost fell over laughing, Anne did the same. "Oh, wow. Why do you do this to me, Anne?" Serayna asked, out of breath. "Because you did all of that to me!" Anne, also out of breath, laughed as she pointed to a clothing rack. On it, hung all of the 'rejects' of the day: the sparkly-yellow tube-top-mini-skirt outfit, the fluffy electric blue robe, and a hideous tan dress.

Serayna watched Anne drag the humoungo dress onto the rack, as she started looking for more dresses.
Serayna looked outside and saw someone talking to Ronan. Serayna took a double take at this.
What's Ronan doing here? And why are... They... talking? Serayna thought. She looked at Anne, who seemed to not have heard this. Serayna smiled. The spell had worked. Anne couldn't hear Serayna's thoughts.
Serayna silently removed herself from the room and walked outside where Ronan and... him stood conversing.
"What are you two doing?" Serayna asked looking from Ronan to the other.
"Just talking. So... Melaina... how's it going?" He asked. Serayna shot eye daggers at the man. This was not the first time he had called her that. With a single flourish, she grabbed the dagger from it's holster and thrust it up against his chin.
"I swore on my life, years ago, that if you EVER called me that again, i'd slit your throat." Her eyes turned a dangerous storm grey and the water from the fountain not to far away, started churning and sloshing up. The earth started to shake and roar.
The fear in his eyes was almost non existant, his face instead broke into a smile. He laughed as if he did not fear her, but there was panic in his laugh.
"You wouldn't kill me Rayna. You and i both know that's true. I can see it in your eyes. You know you wouldn't even try to." He said chuckling, but the last part shook, as if he was reassuring himself a little more than he planned to.
"Oh really? Don't you remember anything? That life i led is long gone." Serayna muttered.
"Really? If it's long gone, then what am i doing here?

Serayna's entire world stopped for a second. What was he doing here? Had all of her efforts of continually telling herself that she had truly become a different person been a lie? Yes. Something inside of her, newly awakened in this instant, had answered the question for her in her mind. It was something that she hadn't felt in a long time... Something she had forced to become dormant within the whole entirety of her existence... Defeat.
Her legs wobbled weakly underneath her and she was falling into deep lethargy. Again, she would be reacquainted with her lost depression from years ago.
Anne turned to see that Serayna was gone; but looking out the window, she had seen it all. She ran outside to catch Serayna just before she hit the ground and helped her get unsteadily back to her feet.
The familiar town around her morphed into an alien planet she had never before seen, the caring face of her best friend seemed like a simple lie in the vast nothingness that surrounded them, and Serayna was beginning to experience the emptiness that Anne had felt all those years. Serayna Joel Evi was finally giving in to reality, and she starting to let the thoughts of others interfere with the way she was- one thing she swore she would never do as long as living organisms roamed the planet.
She took a deep breath, then another. She blinked, breathed again, listened to the beating of her heart, blinked again, breathed... At least she knew these simple actions were still true.

Serayna looked around. Everything was so... alien... so unfamiliar. Serayna could feel the concern leaking out of Anne like a running fawcett. And Anne knew that there was more to this than meets the eye.
Serayna's off distance stare, her gaze kept drifting between the unfamiliar face of the new man, Ronan, and Anne. Her eyes were somewhere else, and her breathing was normal. But Anne could hear the heartbeat. That fast tempo meant that Serayna was inside, and fighting to get out.
Anne heard the voices... those few words that would change her take on this. Anne... remember years ago? You remember that... thing i once was? This is her... she's been released from her prison... it's Cadmus. Anne didn't really know who it was, but from the tone in Serayna's voice she knew it was something bad. And then the flashback...
There was a person standing a few feet away scribbling something. Anne stood behind them, wondering where she was. Then she remembered this day. Years and years ago, when Serayna was still Selena, and Anne was Anna.
Suddenly the person sat up straight and handed the piece of parchment to another person. "Here you go. All my past lives, and who they were. I hated them all. There's Kylo, Tala, and Cadmus. Tala was too hyper, Kylo was really calm and caring and generous. And then Cadmus was like a nerd. Really cool name, knew too much stuff." Selena said. Anna nodded, looking at the parchment. There were pictures, and names and descriptions of personality.
"Thank you. I shall remember this through all my lives." Anna promised... And so she had.
"Cadmus?" Anne asked looking at whatever it was. There was no longer a pronoun to describe her old friend.
"Yes?" It asked. And Anne knew what that voice had said was true.
"Ok... I need to talk you two right now." Anne said turning to the two men.
"Alright. So Cadmus is one of Serayna's past lives. A really intelligent one, too. And Serayna hates her guts. She remembers their lives as if they were hers. And she hated that "period" of time. We need to get Serayna out of there." Anne murmured quietly. They nodded and looked at her hoping for a plan.
"Ronan, you need to attack Cadmus, try and slit her throat. This will help you." She said pulling out a dagger whose blade shone bright green.
"And then you cast the spell to release the spirits inside that body." Anne said pointing to the other.
"And when they are all out, i will be able to tell which is Serayna. And we'll contain the spirit, and within 24 hours... we must find another body for Serayna." Anne whispered. Now the men's confidence was drained. They exchanged glances, unsure how to do this.
"Anne... how are we supposed to find another body for Serayna? Serayna has a body type that fits her personality. How are we supposed to... find something that fits her?" Ronan asked. Anne shrugged.
"Serayna is always up for a little change. So i say, we give it to her." Anne said. And unlike many terrible planners, they had kept an eye on their target. Most planners turn away from their targets, allowing them time to escape. But Cadmus did not have that glorious of luck.
Ronan, you know what to do? Anne asked. Ronan nodded.
And you know what to do? Anne asked the other. He nodded.
By the way... the name's Aeilon.
